The prime site selected for the law
school's Lewis Katz Building at University Park promises a singularly prominent building
at the new front door to Penn State’s main campus. A stunningly
beautiful arboretum will be directly
adjacent to the site. View arboretum slide show.
The Lewis Katz Building will be in close proximity
to the University’s east sub-campus, the academic precinct
that houses the Smeal College of Business Administration and the
School of Forest Resources.
Penn State's Board of Trustees recently approved the final
design of the University Park facility. A 3-D
animation of the building offers a preview of the law school's
future home. The new building is designed to achieve certification
under the United States Green Building Council's LEED rating system
for environmental sustainability.
Pending completion of the building (expected occupancy December 2008), students
and faculty at the University Park location are occupying highly
suitable transition space in the Beam Building
on Park Avenue.
