HONOR CODE
The students of The Dickinson School of Law seek to maintain an academic environment that places a premium upon honesty, integrity, and the free exchange of ideas among members of the Law School Community. The pursuit of knowledge is fostered by the tenets of an honor code. The central purpose of the Honor Code is to sustain and protect the Community of Trust in which students can enjoy the freedom to develop their intellectual and personal potential. The Honor Code ensures that every student will be presumed to be truthful, provides fairness within the classroom, and protects a student's property. The adoption of an honor code implies that students commit themselves to the pursuit of truth. Dishonest means are incompatible with this pursuit.
The students of The Dickinson School of Law presume that the behavior of each member of the student body will conform to the highest standard of honesty and integrity expected of those who enjoy the privilege of practicing law. This level of integrity accompanies each student in dealing with other students, faculty, administrators, and other members of the Law School Community. In addition, all students recognize a duty to refrain from conduct that reflects poorly upon themselves, their school, and their profession. The students of The Dickinson School of Law pledge to respect the law of their community and to adhere to the rules prescribed by the Honor Code, which may be found on-line at http://www.dsl.psu.edu/Honor/Contents.cfm.
