Housing
Penn State Dickinson will provide assistance in obtaining housing at the Residenza Palazzo Ricasoli within walking distance of the historic center of Florence and within easy access by public transportation to the University of Florence School of Law. Although alternative housing exists, most students and faculty reside at this centralized location.
These facilities have been converted in part into one, two, three, or four person, modern efficiency, air-conditioned apartments. Because of fluctuating exchange rates and prices, it is not possible to quote exact costs. The average cost for students in 2007 was approximately $365 per week per person in a double occupancy unit. Food costs are estimated to be about $670 for the one-month period.
Each registrant contracts directly with the hotels. Penn State Dickinson provides housing information and relays reservation requests as a service to students. It accepts no legal responsibility for the housing contracts between students and the hotels. The hotels require non-refundable advance payment to confirm reservations. Please note that once reserved and paid for, room reservations are final.
Transportation
Penn State Dickinson has information on various transportation options to Italy. Registrants must arrange and pay for their own transportation. Penn State Dickinson does not accept any legal responsibility for transportation.
