The
Hague, Netherlands, home of the Peace Palace, the
International Court of Justice, the United Nations
International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia,
and the International Criminal Court, is the site
of our opening lectures. The Hague is a forty-five
minute commute to Amsterdam.
Historic Brussels, Belgium, with its magnificent Grand Place and accessibility to places of incomparable beauty like the Bruges canals, is headquarters of the Commission of the European Community and Council of the European Union. The close proximity of the European Court of Justice in Luxembourg offers additional unique opportunities for on-site seminars.
Strasbourg, France, a former city-state, is the seat of the Council of Europe and the Parliament of the European Community. Distinguished professors and attorneys from the University of Strasbourg School of Law, the Council of Europe and European Union legal staff, and other scholars and practitioners versed in international and comparative law join our faculty in Strasbourg. On-site seminars are conducted at the French Inns of Court (i.e. the Centre de Formation), the headquarters of the Council of Europe, the European Court of Human Rights, and the Parliament of the European Community.
Vienna, Austria, once an imperial city, is now the site of United Nations facilities rivaling those of New York. Legal scholars from the University of Vienna School of Law, private practitioners and the distinguished legal staff of the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) will participate.
