Tuition and Fees
Tuition is $2,700 for 6 credits ($450 per credit). Tuition for non-U.S. students taking 5 credits is $2,250 ($450 per credit) and the tuition cost includes transportation for the trip from The Hague to Brussels to the European Court of Justice in Luxembourg and to Strasbourg; and transportation for the trip from Strasbourg via Salzburg to Vienna. All participants must also remit an activities fee of $250. Payments for tuition, activities fee, course materials and housing must be received no later than June 13, 2008.
Tuition for lawyers participating in one half-session is $1,350. Tuition for the full session of 6 credits is $2,700.
Student Loans
Students may apply for loans to cover the cost of tuition and living expenses. Lending arrangements must be made by the borrower through the school at which the student is enrolled.
Housing
Penn State Dickinson will provide participants with assistance in obtaining housing in single, double, or triple occupancy rooms, each with private bath, 24-hour reception desk, and lounge areas. Housing is available in the vicinity of the classrooms near the historic centers of The Hague, Brussels, Luxembourg, Strasbourg, and Vienna. Housing costs are estimated to be approximately $395 per person per week, based on a double occupancy room. Food costs are estimated to be $600 for the one-month period.
Details for procuring housing may be obtained from Penn State Dickinson. Each registrant contracts directly with the hotels. Penn State Dickinson provides housing information and relays reservation requests as a service to students. It accepts no legal responsibility for the housing contracts between students and the hotels. The hotels require non-refundable advance payment to confirm reservations. Please note that once reserved and paid for, room reservations are final.
Transportation
Upon request, Penn State Dickinson will provide information regarding various transportation options to Amsterdam with return from Vienna to the United States. However, registrants must arrange and pay for their own transportation. Penn State Dickinson does not accept legal responsibility for travel arrangements. For surface travel, Eurail passes (or student Rail Passes) are economical but must be purchased in the United States. An air-conditioned bus is provided for students and faculty for transportation between the sites where classes are given. Eurail (or student rail) passes are not necessary unless the student plans to travel before or after the program.
