American FactFinder is a Census Bureau data access and dissemination system that provides useful facts and information about communities, economies, and societies. The system searches statistical information for population, housing, economic, and geographic data.


American Housing Survey (AHS)

Formerly the Annual Housing Survey, this survey gives data on apartments, single-family homes, mobile homes, vacant homes, family composition, income, housing and neighborhood quality, etc. National data are collected every other year.


Commission on Affordable Housing and Health Facility Needs for Seniors in the 21st Century

The Seniors Commission is responsible for reporting on the housing needs of seniors and offering policy and legislative recommendations for enhancing services and increasing available housing for this segment of society. Bush's Initiatives, which direct federal agencies to work together to build a one-stop interagency web portal, DisailityInfo.gov is a comprehensive online resource specifically designed to provide people with disabilities with the information they need to know quickly. The portal provides access to disability-related information and programs available across the government on numerous subjects, including civil rights, education, employment, housing, health, income support, technology, transportation, and community life. Millennial Housing Commission

The Commission helps to identify and develop recommendations to improve the housing delivery system and provide affordable housing for the American people, including recommending possible legislative and regulatory initiatives.


Rural Empowerment Zone and Enterprise Community Program (EZ/EC)

The Empowerment Zone and Enterprise Community program is designed to afford communities real opportunities for growth and revitalization. The program operates on four key principles: Economic Opportunity, Sustainable Community Development, Community-based Partnerships, and Strategic Vision for Change.

Urban Renewal Communities, Empowerment Zones and Enterprise Communities Initiative (RC/EZ/EC)

This initiative is aimed at helping urban communities stimulate economic and social reform through a $22 billion tax-incentive program. With these tax incentives, urban communities are able to open new businesses, provide new jobs, and build new housing to achieve economic revitalization.
