Sign On to LEXIS

Each student enrolled at The Dickinson School of Law receives a Lexis password. Judy Swarthout, Associate Law Librarian, (jsx2@psu.edu) maintains and updates the LEXIS password list. Students needing their passwords should consult with her. Penn State University students who are not enrolled in the law school do not have access to LEXIS through the law school's account. These students should consult with University Libraries for access to LexisNexis Academic Universe. The law school cannot provide access to LEXIS to those individuals who are not affiliated with the law school.

Graduating Seniors -- Class of 2008:

Your LEXIS ID will remain active through August 1, 2008. However, it will default to a restricted menu of sources on June 1, 2008, unless you fall into one of the categories listed below, and register for summer access as directed.

The last day to redeem LEXIS points for Graduating Seniors is July 31, 2008.

Summer Access for Current Members of the Classes of 2009 & 2010:

From June 1 to August 1, ALL Law student ID's will default to a restricted menu of career oriented sources ONLY.

Students who are:

• Enrolled in a summer law school class
• Employed as a Research Assistant by a Dickinson School of Law Professor
• A member of the law review or journal staff or a moot court team member (this does not apply to student writing in the casenote competition)
• Additionally, students who are working in an unpaid, non-profit public interest internship/externship

Students who meet the above requirements may extend their passwords by signing on to LEXIS, clicking on the MY SCHOOL link in the menu bar and following the prompts.
