Membership Invitations

The Penn State International Law Review attracts some of the best, brightest and most diverse law students around. We sponsor training programs designed to upgrade editorial and managerial skills, and work in partnership with an experienced international law faculty and practicing attorneys to expose our members to the full spectrum of international law.

The Penn State International Law Review selects associate editors from the first-year class following the Summer Casenote Competition which takes place immediately after first-year exams end. Students in the top two-thirds of the first-year class may compete, and those in the top 7.5 percent of the first-year class receive a weighted advantage in the competition. After selection, new PSILR members must write a Comment of publishable quality during their second year. In addition, PSILR members are required to assist in the publication of issues during both their second and third years. Students who complete a Comment of publishable quality during their second year receive two academic credits in the Spring semester. Second-year students must also satisfactorily complete an international law course in order to participate on this law review. Third-year members of the review receive one credit per semester for the position of senior editor and two credits per semester for positions on the Editorial Board.
