The Penn State Law Reviews'
Collective Policy Regarding Transfer Students
All three of the student-run law journals at The Penn State Dickinson School of Law allow transfer students to apply for membership. [Note: The World Arbitration and Mediation Review is not a student-run journal and therefore may or may not follow this policy.] This document reflects the entire transfer student policy. Anything not specifically addressed in this document is to be decided by the individual law reviews according to their own constitutions and bylaws.
I. NOTICE
Students attempting to transfer to The Penn State Dickinson School of Law (PSU/DSL) after their first year of legal education will be notified of their eligibility to compete for law review membership after they successfully submit their transfer application to the law school Admissions Office.
However, transfer students who apply to PSU/DSL after the completion of the casenote competition will not be eligible for membership.
II. COMPLETION OF CASENOTE COMPETITION
All potential transfer students wishing to apply for law review membership must participate in the law reviews' casenote competition, regardless of whether the Law School has accepted the transfer student.
The law reviews' casenote competition will be available to all potential transfer students beginning on July 1, after which they will have 10 days to complete their casenote. All potential transfer students must submit their casenotes by July 10, pursuant to the law reviews' casenote competition directions. Potential transfer students who fail to submit a casenote by this deadline or otherwise fail to comply with the competition requirements will not be considered for membership.
III. OFFERS FOR MEMBERSHIP
All potential transfer student casenotes will be graded prior to the law reviews offering membership to any student. However, all offers for membership will be made by the individual law reviews, and according to their own constitutions and bylaws.
Law review membership is dependent upon matriculation to The Penn State Dickinson School of Law.
