Program Information

Program Description

Under this program, a Penn State Law J.D. student may earn dual degrees: (1) a Penn State Law J.D. and (2) an LL.M. in European Law from Radboud University Law Faculty.

The Radboud European Law LL.M. degree may be earned by spending the fall semester of the 3L year in residence at Radboud, and then completing a thesis requirement in the spring semester while studying at Penn State Law (see below). Students may also receive Penn State Law credit for independent study if a Penn State Law professor also supervises the paper during the spring semester. In addition, up to two law courses relating to European Law previously or subsequently taken at Penn State Law will also be counted towards the Radboud LL.M. degree.

Up to two Penn State Law students per academic year may enter the Master’s Program in European Law offered by Radboud, which will allow them to obtain a Master’s Degree in European Law (LL.M. European Law).

The Masters of Law program is described here.

The Radboud European Law LL.M. program includes general courses in European law, but also allows students to specialize in a specific area by choosing one of the following three tracks: Advanced European Law, Human Rights and Migration Law, or European Business Law. The language of instruction is English.
