Enrollment in PSU Dickinson School of Law Distance Education Courses

ABA Standard 306e requires that a law student complete at least 28 cumulative credits toward the J.D. before enrolling in a distance education course, which is one that is taught at both University Park and Carlisle via our synchronous AV telecommunication technology. Thus, you must have completed 28 or more cumulative credits to enroll in the remote section of a distance education course at the law school; "remote section" means that the professor typically teaches via technology to that section and is not physically present. If you have not completed at least 28 cumulative credits, you still may enroll in the ordinarily in-person section of an upper-level class (which does not constitute "distance education" under this ABA rule).

You can find your cumulative number of credits on eLion by reviewing your advising transcript on the Transcripts application. Cumulative credits appear at the bottom of your transcript with the most recent semester completed.
