Speakers Trust Meeting — Wednesday, January 21, 2004

Absent: Tim Wachter, Matt Hahne, Brendan Hogan, Laura McDonnell
MINUTES:
- ADR — Kevin Skjoldal, President came to discuss a potential Speaker: Kenneth L. Shropshire
- Shropshire may appeal to a variety of student groups — ADR, Sport Entertainment Law, MLSA
- Typically asks $5,000 from schools — willing to discuss
- Teaching at Wharton now
- Kevin to discuss with Carbonneau, Welsh & Ackerman
- Kevin to check on transcription in further conversations
- Will meet again re: funds and formal request
- Senator Mitchell
- Paul to send letter with agreement, then Abigail and Rakhi to do follow-up (logistics, all questions, etc.)
- Lodging and travel yet to be worked out
- Need to talk with Karr re: details of the event (platform for speech, reception …)
- Rakhi to talk to Peter O'Mara re: some sort of fundraiser
- Funds from other organizations will probably be applied to reception costs
- Sean to talk to Federalist Society re: funds
- Lunchtime Speakers
- Michelle working on Platts
- Sean – phonetag with prosecutors from Sniper trials
– emailed attorney at Trout Unlimited - Best times – Wednesdays between 11:00 and 4:00
- All letters sent to be saved on X drive
- Abigail to keep track of dates for asks and acceptances (just send emails)
- Tim has a list of potential speakers – Bill Lynch, Rich Hudic, Arlen Spector, Jim Sheehan, former Attorney General Walter Cohen, Dave LaTorre
- OUTLAW speaker on February 10 th (NOT the 11th )
- Speaker OK with transcription
- Jens to double-check that details are taken care of
