Speakers Trust Meeting — Thursday,

Present: Jens Wagner, Colleen Piker, Michelle Szelewski,
Rakhi Patel, Tim Wachter, Charles Kane, Shelly Ewalt,
Jason Reimer, Kevin Skjoldal

MINUTES:
The Dickinson Republican Council would like to
have Jason Mattera speak
Mr. Mattera, a Puerto Rican conservative,
who will discuss conservatism on college campuses
and the needs for a welcoming environment for
all political beliefs and values
Gina Santucci heard him speak at Conservative
Political Action Conference and said that he
is a very dynamic speaker
The event would take place on Tuesday, March
29 at 7:00 p.m.
The cost of the event, including travel and
lodging, would be $520.
The Council plans to invite students from
Dickinson College and local politicians through
the Cumberland Country Republican Party
Request approved
Tom Corbett has agreed to speak
The event will be Monday, April 11 at 6:00
or 6:30 p.m. with dinner to follow with the
Speakers Trust
Michelle is also going to invite students
from Dickinson College
Plans for Judge Conaboy’s speech have been
finalized
The speech will take place on Tuesday, March
22 at 7:00 p.m.
He will speak on his personal experiences,
from participating in the Kennedy’s presidential
campaigne to heading the Federal Commission
for Sentencing Guidelines
Jens’s has proposed several dates for Jen
Massie to speak, but is waiting for a response
Please spread the word about Prof. Haughney’s
speech
Advertising speakers
We need to find some more ways to advertise
speakers in order to avoid events that have
a very low turnout
Invite faculty and staff using their listserve
Have organizations “endorse”
speakers who relate to the organization’s
purpose
They don’t have to contribute money,
just put their name on the poster to draw
members of that organization
