Rugby Club
History and Mission Statement
The Dickinson Law Rugby Club provides the only competitive interscholastic athletic team in the Dickinson Law community. The club was formed eight years ago by DSL alumni John Cherry and Mike Schwoyer. Membership is open to not only students, but to alumni, faculty, and members of the Carlisle Community. No previous experience is necessary, as 75 percent of the current members had no experience when they joined.
The team competes during both the fall and spring seasons. The fall schedule is mandatory and set by the Eastern Pennsylvania Rugby Union (EPRU). Opponents include Pennsylvania men's clubs, law schools, medical schools and business schools. Our fall season culminates in the New York Seven's International Tournament. The optional spring schedule is set by the club and usually includes participation in the Widener Law Earth Day Tournament along with two to three games against local men's clubs.
