After earning both a master’s degree in English and a law degree from the University of Wisconsin, Professor Muller-Peterson began her legal career as a supervising attorney in a University of Wisconsin clinical program followed by a federal court clerkship in the Western District of Wisconsin. She then served in the Office of General Counsel of the United States Department of Agriculture and as executive director of Legal Services, Inc. in Carlisle, PA, where she administered a four-county legal services program and developed considerable practice expertise in family, public benefits and consumer protection law.
