Professor Les MacRae concentrates his teaching and research on questions of the duty to preserve and protect assets. He is Penn State Dickinson’s primary expert in the law of the protection of natural resources, teaching courses in ocean and coastal law, natural resources law, maritime law and land use regulation. Professor MacRae also teaches administrative law and one of his current scholarship projects is the development of a coursebook on administrative law that uses environmental regulation as its focus. He also is engaged in a scholarly project involving an examination of the legal rules developed to deal with water, a scarce resource in many parts of the country.
