Adjunct Professor of Law
David A. Fitzsimons has been practicing law in central Pennsylvania since 1984 and is a shareholder with Martson Law Offices in Carlisle, PA. His practice touches all aspects of dispute resolution, representing individuals and companies in contract and business disputes, with emphasis on construction, business operation/succession, employment, land use and estate-related litigation. Over the past ten years, he has served as a court-appointed and privately retained mediator for the successful resolution of numerous disputes in the areas of commercial contract, construction, employment law, business succession and personal injury. Professor Fitzsimons also serves as an arbitrator, both on court-appointed panels and as a privately retained neutral.
Professor Fitzsimons is a member of the Cumberland County, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, and American Bar Associations. He is the current vice chair of the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Committee on Legal Ethics and Professional Responsibility, and he is an active member of the PBA’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee. He also serves as chair of the Cumberland County Bar Association’s ADR and Fee Dispute Committees. Additionally, he is a master emeritus with the James S. Bowman American Inn of Court in Harrisburg, and he is a master with the Cumberland County Inn of Court in Carlisle.
Professor Fitzsimons is a member of the Certified Mediator Panels for the United States Courts of the Middle District of Pennsylvania, the Cumberland County Bar Association Panel of Mediators and Arbitrators, and Dauphin County Bar Association Mediators Panel. Since 1994, he has served as an advocacy adjunct instructor at The Dickinson School of Law and as an advisor to several moot court teams.
