Laurence E. Norton II
Education:
LL.B., B.A., Yale
Laurence E. Norton II has thirty-five years of legal
aid experience and is currently employed by the Community
Justice Project and Texas Rural Legal Aid where he
advocates for low-income people in the Farm Worker
Division.
Mr. Norton has experience with housing, public benefits, employment and criminal appeals for indigents. He has also been substantially involved in more than thirty class action suits and Fair Labor Standards Act litigation in the past twenty years.
An adjunct professor who teaches Legal Problems of
Indigents, Mr. Norton has authored and co-authored
numerous publications on employment and other farm
worker issues, including newspaper pieces in the New
York Times, the Philadelphia Inquirer
and the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Mr. Norton
is a Board Member with the Farm Worker Litigation
Support Fund and with Friends of Farm Workers.
