Grace D'Alo's experience includes working as assistant
attorney general for the Pennsylvania Department of
Education, managing attorney of Legal Services, Inc.
and as a writing consultant/evaluator of the Commonwealth's
special education hearing officers and Special Education
Appeal Panel members. She also served as the director
of the Pennsylvania Special Education Mediation Service.
In that capacity she trained mediators, conducted
research in the field of conflict resolution, and
worked extensively with national organizations to
promote collaborative decision making in the school
context.
She is a mediator and trainer for the Middle District of Pennsylvania and an adjunct professor at Penn State's Dickinson School of Law where she teaches legal writing and analysis in the LL.M. program. She has written articles on mediation and special education and published in the Harvard Negotiation Law Review, Harvard Negotiation Journal, and the Dickinson Law Review. She is nationally recognized as a speaker, writer, and instructor on school law and conflict resolution.
