About the Scholarship: Many of you might remember that in early 2012, Tracy Steele ’95, Kevin Steele ’92, and Curt Toll ’94 led an effort to encourage Philadelphia area alumni to give back to the Law School in recognition of the role it has played in our professional successes and to help the students who will follow in our footsteps. Thanks to their efforts and subsequent contributions from fellow alumni, the scholarship fund has reached just under $32,600 in gifts and pledges.
These alumni, our classmates and friends, started this effort and we must help to ensure its success. When the endowment reaches $50,000 the scholarship will be activated, but our goal is to continue to grow the fund in order to provide meaningful scholarship support for deserving students. When activated, the scholarship will benefit law students enrolled or planning to enroll in The Dickinson School of Law who have achieved superior academic records or who manifest promise of outstanding academic success. First preference will be given to students whose home address of record is within the Philadelphia region which shall include the following counties in Pennsylvania: Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery and Philadelphia.
With that being said, please join us for an evening of camaraderie, memories, and most importantly, fun, as we help to build the Scholarship fund. Our goal for this event is to raise a minimum of $20,000 in gifts and pledges so the scholarship can soon be activated for the benefit of students. If you’d like to learn how you can make a gift or pledge to the scholarship, please contact the Office of Development & Alumni Affairs at firstname.lastname@example.org or 717-240-5235.
