"The Difference Between Conservative and Liberal Supreme Court Justices" with Dean Jesse Choper

Jesse Choper, Earl Warren Professor of Law at U.C. Berkeley, will present "The Difference Between Conservative and Liberal Supreme Court Justices: the Roberts Court and Its Modern Predecessors." Choper, who was a clerk to Chief Justice Earl Warren of the U.S. Supreme Court following graduation from law school, is the author of books on constitutional law, the Supreme Court, and Congressional power. He has taught at Harvard Law School, Fordham Law School, the University of Milan, Free University in Amsterdam, Autonoma University in Barcelona, University of South Wales in Sydney, University of Lucerne in Switzerland, and Catholic University of Portugal in Lisbon and Porto. He was dean of Boalt Hall from 1982 to 1992. 

Choper's major publications include Judicial Review and the National Political Process: A Functional Reconsideration of the Role of the Supreme Court and Securing Religious Liberty: Principles for Judicial Interpretation of the Religion Clauses

He holds a B.S. and D. Hu. Litt. from Wilkes University and an LL.B. from the University of Pennsylvania.
