Libertarian Presidential Candidate Visits Campus
Carlisle, PA (September 29, 2004) — Presidential
Candidate Michael Badnarik spoke to about 40 Penn
State Dickinson students and members of the public
on September 28.
A professional software developer from Indiana, Badnarik outlined the Libertarian platform, which stresses individual liberties, adherence to the word of the Constitution, and limiting the size and powers of the government. His talk — followed by a question and answer session — discussed issues such as the right to bear arms (including assault weapons), privatization of social security, the need to end the war in Iraq, and the U.S. Constitution as a basis for government.
Badnarik also introduced Pennsylvania Libertarian Senate candidate Betsy Summers.
Badnarik's visit was sponsored by the Law School's Speakers Trust Fund of the Student Bar Association.
