Robert B. Surrick came out of retirement
to consult with and become Executive Director of the
Politically Active Physicians Association. He has
now formed Doctor's Advocate to protect doctors from
frivolous lawsuits.

Edward W. Seifert was recently named
a Pennsylvania SuperLawyer 2005 by Philadelphia
Magazine and Law & Politics. Edward
practices Real Estate in Reed Smith LLP’s Pittsburgh,
PA office.
1966
William R. Caroselli was recognized
as one of Pennsylvania's Top 100 Super Lawyers for
the second year in a row by Philadelphia Magazine
and Law & Politics.
1969
The August 1, 2005, issue of New York magazine,
named G. Robert Marcus to its “The
New York Area’s Best Lawyers” list for
the New York, New Jersey and Connecticut area. Bob
is the chairman of Norris McLaughlin & Marcus,
P.A.’s management committee and concentrates
his practice on corporate transactions and tax matters.
Barry J. Nace was elected President-Elect
of the National Board of Trial Advocacy. The Board
certifies trial attorneys in the field of civil and
criminal advocacy, family law and social security
law. He was also elected to serve on the Washington,
D.C. City Council’s Medical Malpractice Commission.
1970
Buchanan Ingersoll extended the term of Thomas
L. VanKirk as chief executive officer through
at least April 30, 2007.
1972
David E. Wagenseller, III joined
the law firm of Reese, Pugh & Samley, P.C., which
is now Reese, Pugh, Samley, Wagenseller & Mecum,
P.C., in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
Martha “Marty” Baum Walker
was named a 2005 Pennsylvania Super Lawyer in recognition
for her work in family law. She is the only attorney
in Franklin County to be named to the list and the
first woman in Franklin County to achieve Super Lawyer
status
1975
Gilbert J. Golding was recently named
a Pennsylvania SuperLawyer 2005 by Philadelphia
Magazine and Law & Politics.
Robert C. Saidis, a founding partner
of the firm of Saidis, Shuff, Flower and Lindsay was
reappointed to a second, three-year term on the disciplinary
board of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania. Robert
has also been reappointed as chair of the board's
communications committee. As chair of the communications
committee, he is responsible for overseeing internal,
as well as external, communication between the disciplinary
board, its attorney members, and the public. Robert
oversees the real estate law division of his practice,
which includes title insurance and search, settlements
and other related services for the firm's commercial
and residential transactions. Additionally, he provides
counsel and representation to various financial institutions,
as well as numerous small and medium size businesses
regarding corporate, financial and business planning
requirements.

on the PBS program Charlie Rose on July 26,
2005.

John F. Stoviak was recently recognized
for legal excellence in The Best Lawyers in America.
John concentrates his practice in environmental law
in Saul Ewing LLP’s Philadelphia office.
1977
Anniken (Horton) Davenport recently
published her first textbook. In January 2005, Pearson/Prentice
Hall published the textbook, Basic Criminal Law,
the U.S. Constitution, Procedures, and Crimes,
which is aimed at undergraduate students in criminal
justice and legal studies/paralegal programs.
Michael W. Gang recently joined
Post & Schell PC in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania where
he and David B. MacGregor will co-chair the firm’s
new energy practice.
Craig M. Terkowitz is managing attorney
for Hanover Insurance New Jersey house counsel.

John Schmel was featured in Philadelphia’s
Legal Intelligencer for his pro bono work on behalf
of the Milton Hershey School Alumni Association in
seeking reform for the School Trust for the benefit
of needy children.
Jerry L. Spangler has been re-elected
to a second six year term as chairman of California
University of Pennsylvania’s Council of Trustees.
Jerry is currently serving his third term as Somerset
County district attorney. He is also president of
the Pennsylvania District Attorneys Association, a
member of the Historical and Genealogical Society
of Somerset County, the Berlin Historical Society,
Somerset Lions Club, Somerset Fraternal Order of Eagles,
Sons of the American Legion and Trinity Evangelical
Lutheran Church. Jerry is also a member of the Flight
93 Task Force, serving as co-chairman of the memorial
ideas and general management plan oversight subcommittees.
Jerry was nominated by the Secretary of the Interior
to serve on a 15 member federal advisory commission
created to make memorial design recommendations.
1980
Ronald R. Collins is serving as a
member of the cabinet of the mayor of the District
of Columbia as director of the Office of Boards and
Commissions.
Irwin H. Siegel received the “Master
Teacher Award”, the highest level of recognition
given to a Pennsylvania College of Technology faculty
member. Irwin is an associate professor of Business
Administration and Business Law in the School of Business
and Computer Technologies.
1981
Ronald L. Hershner was elected president
of the York County Estate Planning Council. Hershner
is a partner with the York-based firm Stock and Leader
and chairman of its business and employment practice.
1982
Andrew Allison is a partner in the
business law and litigation department and chair of
Post & Schell’s trade secret & non-compete
law group. Andrew concentrates his practice in trade
secret law and covenants not-to-compete as well as
labor and employment law.
Stephen W. Schwab represented the
International Bar Association in the Twentieth Session
of The Hague Conference on Private International Law,
in Holland, June 14-30, 2005. Stephen is also Chair-Elect
of the ABA's excess, surplus lines and reinsurance
committee in the tort trial and insurance practice
section.

Samuel W. Heed was selected as 2004
Boy’s Coach of the Year by the Pennsylvania
Independent School Cross Country Coaches Association.

H. Daniel Hill III was unanimously
confirmed by the state Senate for an appointment to
the Pennsylvania Game Commission..
In July, 2005, Joseph C. Peters

Peter E. Riccobene and his firm Teschon,

The Lancaster New Era profiled Samuel
C. Slaymaker on September 3, 2005. Sam is
the new executive director of Rock Ford Plantation,
the home of Revolutionary War General Edward Hand,
located in Lancaster County, PA. He is opening Slaymaker
Heritage Law and will devote his entire practice to
preservation law advising on rehabilitating and protecting
historic buildings and preserving farmland.

Ramona Cataldi is an associate in

On June 3, 2005, Joseph C. Huttemann
served as faculty for the Bucks County Bar Association’s
workers’ compensation section seminar entitled

Sandy Luick is happy to announce
that his 2004 marriage to Svitlana was blessed with
little Elizabeth Marie on 5/4/05. Sandy, who founded
HANDYANDY 10 years ago, reports it is now the largest
residential repair & remodeling company in metro
Atlanta, GA, handling “every facet of home repair
& improvement you can think of.”
Christopher J. Redd recently published
a two part article appearing in the July/August and
September 2005 issues of the American Bankruptcy
Institute Journal on the treatment of securities
and derivatives transactions in bankruptcy. Christopher
is a partner in the Philadelphia office of Duane Morris,
LLP practicing in the areas of commercial finance,
business and debt restructuring, chapter 11 bankruptcy,
and back-end mergers and acquisitions.
Dina (Ellis) Rochkind is Senior
Counsel to the Financial Services Committee in the
U.S. House of Representatives. In that role, she is
designee to Congressman Spencer Bachus (R-AL) chair
of the Subcommittee on Financial Institutions and
Consumer Credit. Dina was profiled in the Fall 2005
issue of the Career Services Office’s publication
Career Communique.
Victoria Gallen Schutt and husband
Steven are pleased to announce the May, 2005, birth
of John Daniel.
In February, Glen Thomas joined
Blank Rome LLP, Philadelphia, PA, as a partner, as
well as a principal in Blank Rome Government Relations
LLC. Glen made significant contributions to Pennsylvania
as Chairman of the Public Utility. As Chairman of
the PUC, he focused on industry and reliability monitoring,
successfully guiding Pennsylvania’s transition
to fully competitive markets for electricity, natural
gas and local telephone service; securing utility
infrastructure; educating consumers; fostering new
technology, including Demand Side Response and green
power; and building a 21st century PUC. Glen will
use his experience to start an energy practice at
Blank Rome.

message: “While I have some down time traveling,
I thought I'd send an update. I recently added another
child to the portfolio, Ava Marie was born on March

Ron S. Chima accepted the position
of Employment Law Attorney with Rite Aid Corporation
at its headquarters in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania. On
August 29, 2005, Ron, his wife Rina and their daughter
Karina welcomed the birth of baby boy Rajbi S. Chima.

acquisition manager for Triple Crown Corporation.
The Multnomah Bar Association Young Lawyers Section
(MBA YLS) recently elected Emily M. Nazarov,
as a new director to its board. Emily is a judicial
clerk for The Honorable Donald Ashmanskas. She is
also a member of the Gus J. Solomon Inns of Court,
a volunteer attorney for Sponsors Organized to Assist
Refugees, and a co-leader of a Legal Professionals
Team for Stand for Children.

Judith A. Andrejko is engaged to
Daniel P. Babeu. The couple plan a fall 2005 wedding
at St. Therese’s Church in Shavertown, PA.
Richard T. Bobbe, III joined Wisler
Pearlstine Talone Craig Garrity & Potash LLP’s
litigation group. He focuses his practice in the areas
of construction law and commercial litigation. Richard,
wife Anne and son Aidan are also pleased to announce
the arrival of Wiliam Jack on June 11, 2005.
Penn State President Graham B. Spanier presented
Pennsylvania Secretary of State Pedro A. Cortés
with the Penn State Alumni Fellow Award, the highest
honor bestowed by the Penn State Alumni Association,
during a ceremony held Oct. 19, 2005 at University
Park. Instituted in 1973, the Alumni Fellow Award
recognizes select alumni who are leaders in their
professional fields. Secretary Cortés
was also reappointed as eastern region vice president
of the National Association of Secretaries of State.
He was profiled in a June, 2005 article in the Puerto
Rico Herald and Caribbean Business and
opened Elizabethtown College’s Latino Heritage
Month in September 2005
In January 2005, Bryan W. Dillon
was selected partner with the Law Offices of Peter
A. Singler, LLP. The firm has since changed its name
to Singler, Napell & Dillon, LLP. Located just
north of San Francisco, CA, with clients throughout
the country, it exclusively represents franchisees
with regard to franchise matters. Clients range from
single franchisee units to several of the largest
franchisee associations in the country.
Alan W. Fenner of High, Swartz,
Roberts & Seidel, Norristown, PA, recently returned
home from a tour of duty in Iraq where he served with
the First Marine Expeditionary Force Engineer Group
in Al Anbar Province. A commander in the Navy Reserve
Civil Engineering Corps, Alan served as the officer
in charge of reconstruction in Fallujah following
the November 2004 battle to remove insurgents from
the city. Alan, also a registered Professional Engineer,
led a team of Navy Seabees responsible for the restoration
of essential city services and the reconstruction
of critical infrastructure. Occasionally subjected
to hostile fire from holdout insurgents, Alan and
his team moved about the city assessing damage, making
emergency repairs when necessary, and planning and
prioritizing work to be performed by either city workers
or Iraqi contactors. Here at home, Alan concentrates
his practice in municipal, land use and environmental
law. He was profiled in the August 15, 2005 Norristown
Times Herald for his role in Iraq.
Shane Gunter has joined the Charlotte,
NC office of Kilpatrick Stockton LLP. Shane has significant
experience representing banks and other financial
institutions.
Leo James Leo III was sworn in as
an Assistant United States Attorney for the Southern
District of Texas on June 27, 2005. He is currently
assigned to the McAllen Division.
2000
John D. Purdy married Anna Bain on
June 4, 2005. He practices as a litigator in the Clifton,
VA, firm of Fullerton & Knowles.
2001
Brooke V. Elvington is working with
the defense team on the case of United States v. Sami
Al Arian et al, in Tampa, Florida. She has been accepted
into a graduate program in Criminology at the University
of Oxford in Great Britain. Brooke also married her
long-time fiancé, David Hatami, in February,
2005, in Venice, Italy. Classmate Kara K.
Messner flew to Italy to attend.
Jeff Feirick is general counsel
for The Clemens Family Corporation (CFC) located in
Hatfield, Pennsylvania. CFC is the parent company
of Hatfield Quality Meats, Inc., a regional pork processor
processing 2.2 million hogs per year; Country View
Family Farms, Inc., a hog production and marketing
company with 23 farms and 41,000 sows; Wild Bill’s
Foods, Inc., a snack food/beef jerky company; and
CFC Logistics, Inc., a 100,000 sq. ft. cold storage
warehouse and food irradiator. Jeff conducts due diligence
investigations on potential acquisitions and controls
corporation-wide litigation. Jeff was recently appointed
by the Pennsylvania Secretary of Agriculture to serve
on the Agricultural By-Product Management Technology
Board. The Board will advise the Department of Agriculture
and the Rendell Administration on agricultural alternative
energy issues. He will be moderating a panel at the
American Agricultural Law Association Annual Conference
called "Legal Careers in Agriculture for
the New and Not-so-new Attorneys." Jeff
serves on the Lancaster Bible College Corporation
and will be teaching the "Resolving Business
Conflict" seminar at the College’s
Christian Business Leader Conference. He will discuss
conflict resolution methods mentioned in the Bible
as an alternative to litigation.
Paula K. Knudsen was the speaker
at the York County (PA) Bar Foundation’s Law
Day Luncheon held May 2, 2005. Paula is with the American
Civil Liberties Union and litigates in federal and
state courts on behalf of persons whose civil liberties
have been violated. She is one of the attorneys representing
the plaintiffs in the Dover (PA) intelligent design
case.
Sean P. Vitrano and his wife Gina
are pleased to announce the birth of their second
child, Anthony Rosario on July 29, 2005.

Erin (Milne) Drew and her husband

Karl S. Myers, an associate in the
litigation department of Saul Ewing, Philadelphia,
PA, was unanimously appointed by the Montgomery Township
Board of Supervisors to the Township Environmental
Advisory Committee on June 13, 2005. His term will
run until January 2008.
Starting the first weekend in 2006, Dane
Raushenberg will run 52 full marathons to
raise money for the charity L’Arche Mobile.

to the Wisconsin Bar in September, 2004. Since March,
