1954
William M. Hill Jr. was named to The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford’s advisory board. William is with the firm of Hill and Schoenborn in Warren, PA.

The Carbon County (PA) Bar Association recently honored Roger N. Nanovic at a dinner to celebrate his 50th year as a bar member. He serves as a volunteer ombudsman with the Pennsylvania Department of Aging. Roger and his wife of 51 years, Geraldine, have six children, five of whom are practicing attorneys.

1957
Samuel J. Serata was among the recipients when the New Jersey Commission on Professionalism in the Law recently presented the 2004 Professional Lawyer of the Year Awards at the New Jersey Law Center in New Brunswick, NJ. The award is given annually to attorneys who have demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to professionalism throughout their careers in the law. Samuel’s Bridgeton (NJ) practice includes the representation of numerous municipalities, school districts and county agencies.

1961
Reese A. Davis, managing partner of Davis Bennett Spiess & Prendergast LLP, was recognized as a 2004 Pennsylvania Superlawyer in the School and Education Law by Philadelphia Magazine.

William F. Hoffmeyer recently lectured on his article “Oddities and Challenges in Pennsylvania Probate Law” for the National Business Institute in Harrisburg, PA. William discussed the rights and obligations of personal representatives, the manner in which they should manage the decedent’s real estate, and how to handle the various assets of a decedent’s estate. He is a senior partner with Hoffmeyer & Semmelman LLP, York, PA

1963
On December 3, 2004, The Honorable John C. Pettit was honored by the Washington County (PA) Bar Association for his 40 years of service. John has been serving as senior judge since his 1997 retirement.

1967
Sterling Financial Corporation’s board of directors has named William E. Miller Jr. a director of Sterling Financial Corporation. William is the Chairman of the Board of The Pennsylvania State Banking Company. He is also president of Miller and Associates, PC, Camp Hill, PA.

1968
The Honorable Louis J. Farina will be president judge of the Lancaster County (PA) Court effective January 3, 2005. The president judge is responsible for the administration of the county’s judicial system, including all criminal, civil and family court matters. The position is limited, by law, to a single five–year term. Louis and his wife, Lee, have 2 grown children.

1972
The Honorable Richard A. Lewis, Dauphin County (PA) Court of Common Pleas judge, has been named chairman of the Rules of Evidence Committee by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. He hears criminal, civil and family cases and currently sits as Dauphin County’s juvenile court judge.

William T. Renz was admitted to the Georgia bar in September, 2004.

Michael L. Rosenfield is a staff lawyer with the Capital Crimes Unit of the New Mexico Public Defender's Office in Albuquerque.

1975
David F. Henschel is an associate with Porr & Devine LLC. He will focus on securities, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and shareholder relations.

1976
John F. (Joe) Perry sends the following message: “Hi all. I have left the firm of Springer Bush & Perry P.C. after 28 years. I am now retired from the practice of law and trying to figure out what to do when I grow up. What is new with you - I'd love to hear from you.” Joe can be reached at jperry2325@msn.com.

1977
Thomas W. Bergen was among the new Fulton Opera House board members elected for the 2004-05 season. Thomas is a partner with the law firm of Harman Underhill & Brubaker.

1978
Timothy A. Casey of the Wilmington, DE, office of Marshall, Dennehey, Warner, Coleman & Goggin was selected to be included in The Best Lawyers in America 2005-2006 edition. Timothy is a shareholder and a supervising attorney in the firm's Workers' Compensation Department, devoting his entire practice to defending insureds and self-insureds in the workers' compensation area.

1979
Richard E. Fehling has been appointed general counsel to Stevens & Lee by the firm’s Executive Committee. He will be the firm’s chief legal officer and, among other things, supervise Stevens & Lee’s risk management activities, professional responsibility, in-house ethics and CLE programs. He also continues to be responsible for the firm’s recruiting, summer associate and associate mentoring programs. Richard, a shareholder, has practiced at Stevens & Lee for more than 23 years and serves as co-chair of the bankruptcy/workout department.

1981
Glen R. Grell was elected to the Pennsylvania State House of Representatives in November 2004. He will serve the 87th District.

1983
The Keystone Area Council, Boy Scouts of America recently elected Alan R. Boynton Jr. as council president. He has been a member of the Council Executive Board since 1987 and became a vice president in 2001. He has also been legal counsel since 1997. Alan is an Eagle Scout and a member of the Order of the Arrow, scouting’s national honor society. He is also an assistant scoutmaster of Troop 333 in Monroe Township, Cumberland County, PA. Alan is with the Harrisburg, PA, firm of McNees Wallace and Nurick.

William P. Conaboy was recently sworn in as one of seven commissioners appointed to the newly created Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board. The PGCB will be responsible to create and oversee the slot machine gaming industry in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. William is a member of the board of trustees at Lackawanna College and a member of the board at First National Community Bank. He also serves as vice president and general counsel at Allied Services, a regional healthcare system serving northeastern and central Pennsylvania.

Jeffery H. Sunday served as parade marshal for the Wyoming Valley Veterans Day Parade held in Wilkes-Barre, PA, on November 7, 2004. He is a captain in the U.S. Naval Reserve and house counsel/assistant secretary for PG Energy, a Division of Southern Union Company.

1985
John Statler has joined the Lemoyne, PA, firm of Johnson Duffie as a shareholder. John concentrates his practice in the defense of trucking, automobile, commercial and product liability claims. He is also an adjunct professor of trial advocacy at the Dickinson School of Law.

1986
Scott A. Beaverson was recently profiled in the York (PA) Sunday News. Scott handles a broad spectrum of cases such as adoption, divorce, wills, real estate settlements and bankruptcy.

Alice Tank Van Dyke and her husband Peter, had a third child on November 16, 2003. Alexander Paul joins his brother Jackson (7) and sister Grace (5).

1990
In December, Michael R. Bramnick joined NRG Energy as assistant general counsel - litigation. NRG is a $2.5 billion merchant energy provider that owns and operates coal, oil, natural gas, geothermal, and co-generation power plants, primarily in the United States. He will head the litigation function, provide some counsel on environmental matters, and develop and implement a lobbying strategy for the company. Michael reports that NRG recently moved its corporate headquarters to Princeton, New Jersey, “… less than two miles from my house! Our kids, Sophie and Eli are very excited to know that I'll be home for dinner every night. So am I.” (View photo.)

1991
Andrew W. Allison will head up a trade secret and non-compete law group at Post & Schell’s Philadelphia, PA location. He will also handle employment litigation and traditional labor work.

Northeast Pennsylvania Business Journal recently profiled Thomas V. Casale. Thomas is the legal/human resources director of Resorts U.S.A. He also is a member of the board of trustess for the Pocono Environmental Education Center, an organization dedicated to exposing inner-city children to nature. In his leisure time, Thomas, an East Stroudsburg, PA, resident, enjoys golf.

I. Charles McCullough III, was recently appointed to the Defense Intelligence Senior Executive Service. He is the Chief of the Office of Investigations and Special Inquiries, Office of the Inspector General, National Security Agency. Charles previously served as the Senior Counsel for Law Enforcement and Intelligence at the United States Treasury Department, where he was a member of the White House team that established the Department of Homeland Security. He has also served as a Special Agent and Supervisory Special Agent of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

1992
Benjamin C. Dunlap Jr. has joined the Harrisburg (PA) Regional Chamber's Business Diversity Advisory Council, which focuses on enhancing opportunities for women and minority entrepreneurs. Benjamin has a strong interest in diversity issues; he co-chairs the Greater Harrisburg Foundation's Equity for Gays and Lesbians Advisory Committee and is a board member and counsel for PenOwl Productions, a multi-cultural theater company in Harrisburg. He is with the Harrisburg law firm, Nauman, Smith, Shissler and Hall, LLC, where his primary practice areas are public utility, administrative, business and employment law.

Philip H. Spare has joined the law firm of Stock and Leader as a partner. His areas of practice include school law, municipal law, and employment matters.

1993
Michael A. Hamilton was recently a featured speaker at Intellectual Property Litigation and Insurance, a seminar sponsored by the Defense Research Institute in San Diego, CA. The program focused on intellectual property litigation and recent changes in advertising injury liability coverage and infringement insurance. His presentation was titled “Threshold General Liability and Intellectual Property Coverage Considerations in Copyright, Trademark and Trade Secret Litigation.” He also spoke at the 2004 Atlantic Regional Adjusters Conference in Philadelphia. His presentation was on current issues in employment practices liability insurance. Michael concentrates his practice in insurance coverage, bad faith defense and commercial litigation. He has co-authored a number of articles and is a frequent lecturer for local and national organizations. He is a member of the Philadelphia Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Defense Institute, the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Civil Litigation Section, the New Jersey Bar Association’s Insurance Law Section, the Defense Research Institute’s Insurance Law Committee and the American Bar Association’s Tort and Insurance Practice Section. He resides in Bryn Mawr, PA, and is a member of Cozen O’Connor‘s Philadelphia, PA, location.

1994
Todd Simmens and his wife Michele welcomed daughter Ella Jane, born 12/19/04. She joins big brother Alex. Todd has also rejoined the National Tax practice of Ernst & Young LLP, working out of Washington, DC, and Metropark, NJ.

1997
Edward G. Lanza joined the Harrisburg, PA office of Saul Ewing, LLP, as an associate in the firm's business department with an emphasis on public utility law and general administrative litigation.

Edward A. Paskey and wife April welcomed a second son, Lucas Henry, to their family. Lucas was born March 10, 2003. He joins brother, Andrew Jozef. Edward is with Kagen, MacDonald & France, P.C., York, PA.

1998
On December 6, 2003, in Chicago, IL, Katherine A. Siddon married Douglas S. O'Brien.

1999
Alan W. Flenner is on a leave of absence from High, Swartz, Roberts & Seidel in Norristown, PA, to serve as a staff officer with the First Marine Expeditionary Force Engineer Group (I MEG) in Iraq. Alan is a Commander in the Navy Reserve Civil Engineer Corps and was recalled to active duty in July 2004 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. I MEG is responsible for the command and control of military units providing engineering and construction support for First Marine Expeditionary Force (I MEF) combat operations and force protection. I MEG also provides civil-military humanitarian assistance and infrastructure restoration for the people of Iraq. Alan is currently responsible for municipal reconstruction activities in the city of Fallujah.

2000
Michael Anderson performed in a holiday concert with The Central Pennsylvania Symphony on December 18, 2004. Michael, a baritone, performed Overture to the Wasps by Vaughan – Williams and Gustav Mahler’s Songs of the Wayfarer. He is with Blakey, Yost, Bupp & Rausch, LLP, in York, PA.

Shelley L. Centini and Jeremy Hrabal were married on June 19, 2004, at SS. Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Church, Hudson, PA.

Rebecca Michaels is pleased to announce her engagement to Jared Klein. Rebecca is employed as a claims adjudicator for medical providers throughout the US. She was recently honorably discharged from the US Army JAG Corps. Her fiance is a federal law enforcement officer with the Department of Interior. They will wed on October 8, 2005, in Arlington, VA.

Anthony R. Summa joined Cooch and Taylor in their Unionville, PA, office. Tony focuses his practice on elder law, estate planning and administration, corporate law, civil litigation, real estate and family law. He also serves as a contract attorney for the Chester County Department of Aging Services.

2001
In November, Lindsay Gingrich Maclay joined the law firm of Daley, Zucker & Gingrich, LLC, as an associate. Lindsay will continue to practice in the areas of domestic and disability law. She will be expanding her practice areas to also include some trust and estate work and general litigation.

Anne S. Ravert was recently promoted to manager of tax research and planning at Campbell Soup Company, Camden, NJ. Anne recently left the public accounting firm of KPMG, LLP, to join the Campbell's team. She lives in center city Philadelphia.

2002
Kelley L. Brewer recently joined York County (PA) District Attorney's Office as a deputy prosecutor.

After passing the Delaware bar exam and completing his judicial clerkship with The Honorable Jan R. Jurden ’88 in the Delaware Superior Court, Patrick Costello recently started work for the Wilmington branch office of a Philadelphia law firm, Klehr Harrison Harvey Branzburg & Ellers LLP. Patrick works in the litigation department with a focus on commercial litigation. He sends the following message: “Feel free to drop me a line at pcostello@alum.bucknell.edu.”

2003
Jason L. Buckner joined the office of newly elected Congressman Dan Boren on January 4th.

Laura M. Tobey and Louis J. Mattioli III, announced their engagement on December 28, 2004. Both are practicing in Bethlehem, PA and are planning a November 5, 2005, wedding.

Crystal Williamson authored an article entitled “Employee’ Rights to Inspect their Own Personnel Files” which was published in Pennsylvania Law Weekly and Legal Intelligencer. She is an associate in the Harrisburg office of Thomas Thomas and Hafer. Crystal practices employment law with a focus on Title VII, ADA, ADEA and FMLA claims.


2004
Anne Nicole Hartley has joined the Philadelphia, PA, office of Stradley Ronon Stevens & Young, LLP, as an associate in the firm’s litigation department. She focuses her practice on general litigation, primarily in the areas of commercial, securities, insurance and employment. Prior to joining Stradley Ronon, Anne was a legal intern for the Governor’s Office of General Counsel in Harrisburg, PA.

Elizabeth S. LeBlanc has accepted a position with the Futron Corporation. She will be consulting to Lockheed Martin on the International Space Station Cargo Mission Contract doing risk management.

Shonu V. McEchron is an associate at the Harrisburg, PA, office of Saul Ewing LLP. Shonu is in the business department, where she represents corporations and individuals in a wide variety of commercial and business disputes. Shonu also serves on the Equal Professional Opportunity Committee, the Allied Arts Fund Associate's Program Committee, and is active with the Hemlock Girl Scouts Council, and Planned Parenthood of the Susquehanna Valley.

Heather K. Pratt has joined the Philadelphia, PA, office of Stradley Ronon Stevens & Young, LLP. Heather is an associate in the firm’s business law department focusing her practice on commercial finance, mergers and acquisitions, securities, and general business matters. Prior to joining Stradley, she was a legal intern in the Department of Labor and Industry for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Office of General Counsel.

Stuart M. Kreindler ’00 and Marcy Wright Kreindler ’01 are proud to announce the birth of Lily Serena on September 10, 2004.

Pennsylvania General Counsel Leslie Anne Miller ’77 has appointed Steven J. Fishman ’72 to serve as Chief Counsel of the Department of Community and Economic Development. His practice focused on municipal, land development, business and real estate law. Steven has served as Carlisle Borough Council President, and was solicitor to several communities. An adjunct instructor at Dickinson College, he also previously served as legal counsel for the Pennsylvania House of Representatives.

Shanon Carson ’00 married Laura Parke ’00 on October 2, 2004. Attendees at the wedding included Jeff Wong ’00, Bruce Parke ’02, Laura Killian ’00, Rachel Schmid Van Mullem ’00, David Cattie ’00, Benjamin Sweet ’01, Michael Bogush ’00, Joel Toluba ’02, Gabriel Chorno ’01, Brian Penny ’00, Jonathan Miller ’01, and Heather Parsons ’00.

Shanon has practiced class action law at Berger & Montague, P.C. since graduating from the Dickinson School of Law. Laura is in-house counsel for Kramont Realty Trust. They live in Center City, Philadelphia.
