One school • Two locations — Serving
a single vision
In the fall of 2006, we began operating as a
unified law school from two locations – our
original home in Carlisle, PA, and our new location
at University Park, PA. The introduction of the
law school to Penn State’s flagship campus
is part of the University’s $110 million plan
for new, completely interconnected law school facilities
in Carlisle and University Park.
What is the reputation of Penn State Dickinson?
We are known for our student-centered environment
and for our ability to graduate successful and influential
lawyers and judges like former U.S. Homeland Security
Director Tom Ridge, U.S. Senator Rick Santorum,
and the first woman to serve as chief judge of our
U.S. District Court, Judge Sylvia Rambo. We balance
theoretical learning with an experiential approach
through our faculty supervised clinics, field placements,
and pro bono programs.
What is the GPA and LSAT score that Penn State
Dickinson is looking for?
There are no minimum LSAT or GPA requirements.
While the LSAT and GPA are an important part of
your application for law school, the admissions
decision will be based on all information presented
in your file; no decision will be based solely on
your LSAT and/or GPA score. You are encouraged to
include additional information regarding any discrepancies
or occurrences which may have directly impacted
these numerical statistics. Please, visit the Profile
of the First-year Class for the latest statistics.
From whom should I obtain letters of recommendation?
Penn State Dickinson requires two letters of
recommendation. The Admissions Committee prefers
that the letters be written by professors you have
had in your senior year of college. Applicants who
have been out of school for more than one year may
submit letters from supervisors or colleagues. Applicants
may use the LSDAS Letters of Recommendation (LOR)
service.
What should I write in my personal statement?
A personal statement should tell the members
of the Admissions Committee what you want them to
know about your experiences, character, etc. It
is the only opportunity you have to tell the committee
something about yourself.
Where are our graduates employed?
