Selecting Your Campus
Entering first-year law students have the unique
opportunity to select from one of two locations for
their classes — University Park or Carlisle.
During your first year, all required courses are available
at either location.
Second- and third-year upper-level courses are available
through in-person instruction or via our highly sophisticated,
suitable and advanced audiovisual telecommunications
system. Regardless of location, all students have
access to substantially the same curriculum, programmatic
resources and student organizations. Upper-level students
also may switch campuses to take advantage of any
classes or programs uniquely available at the other
campus.
- University Park is the flagship campus for Penn
State University and is home to more than 40,000
students pursuing undergraduate degrees, masters,
and doctorates. It goes without saying that it is
a vibrant community consisting of faculty, staff,
and students of the University, as well as local
residents.
- Carlisle, located ninety miles southeast of University
Park, is the traditional home of the Law School
since its establishment in 1834. Because of its
proximity to the state capital of Harrisburg, Carlisle
offers several unique opportunities for experiential
learning through clinics and other externships.
- Since campus location may ultimately be a personal
choice, we encourage you to weigh your options by
considering all of the information available on
our Web site and in our view book.
